LIVE EVERY TUESDAY

The better you are at your job, the more your company leans on you. Every question, every decision, every “got a sec?” lands on your desk.

That’s why Christene Marie of The Knowing Agency and I started a live workshop series. Every Tuesday, we tackle one real problem builders face with systems, AI, and growth. Bring your questions. We build the sessions around them.

Last Week: The Curse of Capability

A packed calendar feels like proof that you’re winning. But if every job, every number, and every client call runs through you, that’s not success. That’s key-person risk.

When the company depends on one person, it can’t grow past that person. It’s worth less to a buyer. And there’s no plan for the day you want to step back.

Last week we showed how to start getting out of the middle:

  • Find the paper cuts. Look for the small leaks, like typing the same info twice, swivel-chair data entry, and gaps between sales and production. One at a time they’re small. Together they’re eating your margins.

  • Write the recipe. Once a prompt works, turn it into a repeatable step your team can use without asking you.

  • Hand it off. Give each person the AI-backed workflows for their own role, so the work moves without you.

The big shift: stop treating your own capability as the system. Build systems that work when you’re not in the room.

Missed it? Next Tuesday builds on it.

What we cover

  • How to get your systems running without you in the middle

  • How to build AI workflows your whole team can use

  • How to use dashboards to track your real lead costs, close rates, and revenue leaks, instead of going on gut feel

Being the most capable person in your company isn’t a strategy. It’s a risk.

The AI Leverage Ladder

Think of it like a kitchen.

  1. Explore. Chat with AI to test ideas and try things out with your real business info.

  2. Document. When a prompt works, save it as a recipe your team can repeat.

  3. Share. Put your recipes into one team cookbook, so new hires learn from it instead of shadowing you.

  4. Delegate. Hand each person the workflows they own, so they run them without checking with you.

Most builders stall on the first rung. The payoff starts at rung three.

Want to go deeper?

The weekly workshop also introduces our Contractor Operating System, a six-month cohort that builds six core systems into your business: Vision & Strategy, Finance & Reporting, Marketing & Sales, Production, Operations & Automation, and HR & Leadership. It starts January 7, 2027. We’re taking 20 companies, and only one per trade in each area, so you won’t sit next to your competition.

Steal this for your company

Grab a notepad tomorrow. Every time you type something that already exists somewhere else, like a client name, an address, or a job number, make a tally mark. At the end of the day, count them. That number is your first workflow to automate.
